    The Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning Centre (ABU DLC) offers a variety of programmes ranging from undergraduate degrees to postgraduate diplomas and master’s programmes.

    ABU Distance Learning School Fees

    At Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning Centre (ABU DLC), school fees are calculated based on the number of courses you register for.
    For undergraduate students, the fee is ₦10,000 per course, while for master’s students, it is ₦20,000 per course.
    In addition to the per-course fee, students are required to pay:

    • Acceptance Fee – ₦12,500
    • Miscellaneous Fee -₦8,500 (Freshers)
    • Examination Fee – ₦20,000

    To know how many courses you’ll take each semester, follow these steps:

    1. Visit: https://abudlc.edu.ng/academics-and-programmes/
    2. Click on “Academic Programmes”  > “Select/Click a Course”
    3. You’ll be redirected to a page where you can download the course structure for the programme.

    This will help you understand the number of courses per semester and calculate the total amount you’ll spend.

    How to Apply for the ABU Distance Learning

    The application process for the Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning Centre is straightforward and can be done online.

    2. Click on the red “Get Started” to create an account
    3. Once your account is successfully created, log in and proceed to complete your registration.
    4. The application fee is ₦10,000, that you’ll pay during the process

    Transferring to ABU Distance Learning Centre

    Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning Centre (ABU DLC) accepts transfer students, whether you’re currently studying on campus at ABU or coming from another university.

    ✅ Transfer Process for On Campus Students:

    • Visit your department to collect your academic transcript.
    • Registration for the distance learning programme is done via the official portal, which was shared earlier.
    • During application, indicate that you’re a transfer student. This will enable you to upload your transcript during the application process.

    As a transfer student, you’ll continue from the same academic level you were at in your previous institution or programme.

    Do I need JAMB to gain admission into ABU DLC?

    No, you don’t need to write JAMB to gain admission into the Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning programme. For undergraduate admission, your O’Level result is all that’s required.

    How long is the duration of ABU DLC programmes?

    The ABU Distance Learning Centre runs three semesters per year, allowing students to complete a 4 year on campus equivalent programme in just 3 years.

    Is the ABU Distance Learning certificate the same as the on campus certificate?

    Absolutely! The ABU DLC certificate is same with the on-campus certificate , there’s no difference or indication that the degree was obtained through distance learning.

    Are exams conducted online?

    While tests and continuous assessments are done online, final exams are held physically at designated ABU Distance Learning Centres across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones.

    Where are the ABU DLC exam centres located?

    ABU DLC has exam centres in several states, including:

    • Zaria(Main Campus)
    • Abuja
    • Lagos
    • Port Harcourt
    • Gombe

    Can I go for NYSC after graduating from ABU DLC?

    No, graduates of the Distance Learning are not eligible for NYSC. However, you will be given NYSC exemption letter, which serves the same purpose as the NYSC certificate.
