During this process, candidates are required to present their original credential for inspection by university officials.
After the screening, candidates can log in to their ABU Post UTME portal to check their screening status.
If successful, your status will change from “Not Screened” to Qualified.”
If unsuccessful, it will change to “Not Qualified.”
ABU Physical Screening Date for 2025/2026 Academic Session
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has schedule the physical screening excerise to commence from 1st December(To last for two weeks). While the registration is set to commence on January 5th 2026.

Documents Required for ABU Physical Screening
Below are the documents you must bring for your ABU screening:
1. JAMB Admission Letter (available after your CAPS changes to Admitted).
2. School Admission Notification (available after the school releases admission on the ABU portal).
3. O’Level Result (WAEC, NECO, or equivalent).
4. A’Level Result (for Direct Entry candidates).
5. Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.
6. Indigene Certificate.
7. Primary School Leaving Certificate or testimonial
8. Post UTME Result (some departments may request this).
9. Three photocopies of each document for departmental and faculty screening.

Upload of documents
Newly admitted students are required to upload their documents on the post UTME portal before the screening starts. Documents to be uploaded are same as the one mentioned above.
To upload your documents:
- Visit https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms
- Login with your JAMB reg number and state. you’ll land on the post UTME portal after successful login.
- On the post UTME portal Click on the navigation menu (three dash on the top right hand side)
- Click on documents upload. And proceed to upload all the necessary documents

ABU Physical Screening Venue
The physical screening usually holds at Kantagora Square, Main Campus (Samaru, Zaria).
Candidates are to come along with all original documents listed above.
At the venue, you’ll find banners displaying faculty-specific screening tables. Proceed to your faculty’s designated table for the screening exercise.

Important Note!
At the screening venue, every faculty has its faculty excos present. These excos will usually ask for your contact. Ensure you give them your working WhatsApp contact because the primary reason for requesting for your contact is to add you to the faculty group.
The importance of being in the faculty group as a new student cannot be over emphasize as you’ll be able to connect with other new students and meet senior colleagues that’ll provide you with guide on departmental and faculty registration.

1. Visit 👉 https://portal.abu.edu.ng
2. Login using your JAMB Registration Number as username and your state of origin (in lowercase) as password.
3. Update your profile details carefully.
4. Pay your school fees online.
5. Proceed to course registration.
How to Do Course Registration
Course registration is the process of selecting the courses you’ll take for the semester or session.
To avoid mistakes, it’s advisable to seek guidance from senior students or your level adviser before doing the course registration.
Once you’re done with course registration, you can proceed to apply for hostel accommodation (when the portal is open).

What happens if i have a wrong subject combination?
Your course may be changed to one that matches your JAMB subject combination.
What should I do if my screening status has not change after 24hrs of screening?
It’s common that some screening status may take longer than 24 hours to change. after a candidate is screened their details is sent to the senate to be verified and then update the screening status on the school portal, Due to the workload sometimes, candidates may experience a delay. But if a candidate status has not change after 2 days it’s recommended they go to the Senate room 306 or MIS office for complaint.
What happens if there’s a deficiency in core O’Level subjects
You may be transferred to another course where the deficient subject isn’t required.
However, if it’s a core subject like Mathematics or English, you might lose the admission.
What if there’s a difference in my names?
This is a common issue. The school may request that you provide an affidavit from a Notary Public to confirm your name.
Can I wait till January to do my physical screening?
Yes you can wait to do your physical screening and registration in January, the only downside is hostel portal will be open immediately after registration commence if you take long before you do the screening and registration your preferred Hostel might be booked/reserve before then.

For those coming from long distance to zaria for screening will they be able to stay in the hostel after their portal changed to qualified till registration date and school resumes

So what should I do if school admitted me and jamb doesn’t (still showing AIP), if the date of physical screening start?
Becox you mentioned jamb admission letter as one of the requirement for physical screening, and you known if jamb doesn’t admitted, a candidate don’t have ability to get jamb admission letter.
